Job Description The successful candidate can work at any of the Army Corps of Engineers locations.

Senior Storage/SAN Engineer will support the Army Corps of Engineers - IT (ACE-IT) program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Storage products specifications, design, demand management/forecasts, product roadmaps and performance standards to for NAS and SAN technologies including EMC and NetApp. Position also includes leading product evaluations/ tradeoff analysis of storage technologies and products, coordinating with storage vendors on upgrades and replacements, designing failover/ replication architectures and leveraging emerging storage provisioning models using IaaS consumption based models. Additional responsibilities include tier 3 support, development of automated provisioning tools, storage problem management, and architecting storage models for development, test and production environments. Periodic "On Call" support may be required.
Basic Qualifications Demonstrated experience in design, engineering, implementing and supporting Enterprise Storage technology and solutions: SAN/NAS from the major Contractors such as EMC, Netapps, Hitachi, etc..
Demonstrated ability to manage large enterprise storage environment (more than 2 Petabyte of storage).
Demonstrated knowledge and hand-on skill sets in configure and optimize storage with remote replications and backup.
Experience conducting Tiered Storage Analyses. Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Security+ Continuing Education Certification required prior to start and acceptable "computing environment" certification required within six (6) months of start.
Desired skills Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.
VMware, Netapp, and Hitachi Data System storage architecture and technologies.
